This year’s festival will feature filmmakers Megan Mylan, Nathan Clarke and Larsen Jay plus photographer Lauren Pond. Our student showcase includes a team of Carson-Newman filmmakers from Refuge, Inc., a photography exhibit and the Carson-Newman forensics team.
Larsen Jay, a New York native, is president of Dogwood Entertainment and an Emmy Award winner with experience as a Director, Producer, Writer, Production Coordinator, Executive Producer / Director and Script Consultant. His credits include commercials for MCI and Denny’s, sporting events with Nike, and feature films like Universal Soldier: The Return, Duets, Madison, Big Fat Liar, That Evening Sun and the Academy Award- winning Erin Brockovich.
Lauren Pond is a visual journalist and multimedia producer with a special interest in covering religion, faith, and spirituality. Her photography has told the stories of Senegal’s controversial Qur’anic education system, America’s flourishing “Heathen” movement, Pentecostal serpent-handling in Appalachia, and, most recently, motorcycle ministry in Central Ohio.
Nathan is a documentary filmmaker living in Madison, WI with his family. He is also the video director at Christianity Today and the Director of This Is Our City. Nathan recently completed work on a feature documentary, Wrestling For Jesus.
